Magical House Healing, Part II PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Hand

House healing requires two steps in order to be effective: cleansing and energising.  This is the second part of my magical house healing programme and it focuses on how to energise your home with angelic power.

Trust me, this really works, but first it’s very important that you’ve already cleansed your home using the instructions in Part 1, during the waning period of the moon cycle. If you haven’t done this already, please go back and read Part 1 and carry out your cleansing with the next waning moon before you read any further.

Step 2: Energising

I hope by now that you’ve felt the benefit of your house cleansing. Whenever I do the house cleansing ritual, I find that by the next day there’s a sense of light, openness and space in my home. If you can’t feel that change, perhaps you need to perform parts of the cleansing ritual again, but if you can feel that sense of openness and space, then your home is now ready to be filled with a mix of beautiful angelic energies that will satisfy your needs and support the activities that you and your family perform in your living space.

Energising needs to be performed in the waxing phase of the moon (the period from the new moon to the full moon). You may prefer to do the energising ritual on the day of the full moon, but any time within the waxing period is just fine.

Preparation is very important for Step 2 of the programme as it requires you to really think about how you use your home. So, firstly, get a notebook and pen. Sit in each room of your home in turn –including toilet and bathroom- and write down the main functions of that room. How does this room serve your family? Then, think about each family member in turn and jot down the activities they perform in that room.  For example, the dining room may be the place the family gathers to have dinner but it can also be the place where mum does yoga in the morning, and daughter Sarah practises on her trumpet after school. List as many of the activities that happen in each room as you can. If you have a family home, get the kids involved in writing a list of activities for their bedroom – if you dare!

Now, go back to the main functions of the room. For example, think about the lounge. The main function of the lounge is to provide a space for the family to relax and take their ease together. The lounge should be the “feel good” area of the home. Of course, every family is different. For some families, the lounge is the place to sprawl on sofas and watch television, while for other families, it’s the place to chat, entertain or to play games. Make a list of the main functions of each room. You now have two lists – one for the functions of each room and one for the activities that happen in each room. So, are the two lists compatible? For example, if your bedroom is also doubling as home office space, you’re introducing very stimulating mental energy and industry into a room that should have the function of providing you with healing and balance while you rest. If activities are at odds with the function of the room, can they be moved to a more suitable location? This can be difficult to put into practice with teenagers’ bedrooms, which often serve as music studio, beauty parlour and study room, but if you can negotiate with other family members to have a common consensus on how communal living spaces should be used, that’s a pretty good start.

Once you have a good mental picture of how each room of your house should be used, you can then decide what energies need to be directed into that room so that your home environment will be conducive with all you do in it. As I said, we’re going to be using angelic energies to give you an ideal living environment and, in order to do this, we’re going to be calling on the help of the Archangels.

I use the four Archangels of the elements when I’m called in to heal a house. Each of these four Archangels is a very powerful energy field and, when called on, each brings a different kind of energy to your home. Here is a brief outline of the type of energy each angel bestows:

Archangel Uriel. Archangel of the North and the element of earth. Uriel’s energy brings nourishment, abundance and grounding to a home environment. This energy is wonderful for kitchens, providing a warm, nurturing environment. The energy is also good for providing an environment of physical comfort and enjoyment of the good things in life, so it’s also good for the lounge or the dining room. If you have a meditation or yoga room, the element of earth is very important to keep you grounded and firmly in this dimension. Lastly, the element of earth can be very helpful in getting those lower chakras open in the bedroom…if you follow my drift…..?

Archangel Raphael. Archangel of the East and the element of air. Raphael’s energy brings a sense of space and freedom, so it’s ideal if you’re having problems with smaller rooms or if there are quite a few of you living together. Like exhaling after a deep breath, air brings a sense of relief and expansiveness. It’s a feel good energy, which is just right for the lounge. Raphael also brings healing, balance and harmony, all-important ingredients for the perfect bedroom environment.

Archangel Michael. Archangel of the South and the element of fire. Michael’s energy is powerful and very stimulating. It supports activity, purpose and passions. Mentally stimulating, it’s great for the office, study space, music room or hobby room. It’s also good for bringing about change, so if you’ve been dithering or dragging your feet on redecorating or home improvement, a little fire energy might be called for. Lastly, most people know Michael as the angel of protection and, when invoked, he proves a powerful guardian against dark and negative energies.

Archangel Gabriel. Archangel of the West and the element of water. Gabriel’s element is all about flow in different forms. Water flows, it cleanses and washes waste away. Each time we have a bath or shower, the element of water is working on different levels to clean our energy fields and wash away toxins. So, the element of water is a must for maintaining energy flow in bathrooms. Water is also good for keeping balance in highly charged environments, so if anyone in your family has a short fuse, or if disagreements usually happen in a certain room, this element can really help with keeping denser energies flowing away so that they don’t condense in one area. The element of water is all about “going with the flow” in many senses and, not surprising, its tidal, cyclical, lunar  nature is very feminine and very intuitive. If you or any member of your family is creative or artistic, this element creates a wonderful environment to get those artistic juices flowing so that you channel your heart and soul into your work.

Go back to your list of main functions for each room and see if you can connect them to any of the qualities listed above. Don’t worry if you can’t. For our energising ritual, you will be going from room to room asking the Archangels to provide their elemental energies according to the functions on your list. So, for example, let’s look at my lounge. My lounge is not only the place where Julie and I chill and relax with a glass of red wine in the evening, it also doubles as our therapy room during the day. Though our work is slightly different, we both help our clients to process their feelings and this means we need a strong presence of the element of water to maintain the flow of energy in the room and cleanse any dense emotions which might otherwise gather and condense there. Water also helps create the psychic environment I need for my work. Fire is a catalyst for change and helping people make life changes is important in my work so fire is also important in the mix. However, we don’t want a lot of stimulating, dynamic energy in our lounge, so the element of air provides the balance and harmony we need for relaxation. Therefore, in our lounge, I work with Gabriel, Michael and Raphael to provide the right energy mix.

If this seems too confusing, it’s not a problem as each archangel is an intelligent energy field and, if you prefer, you can just invoke the four angels in the energising ritual I’ll describe later and ask them to balance the energies of your home. They will provide an overall balancing of your home, which will have very beneficial effects, but it may lack the impact you can get from directing the angels to channel energies into each room of your home.

So, if you can, now write down which archangels and elements you wish to call on for each room, and why. As you will be speaking these intentions out loud, it’s worth writing these intentions out now in order to save a little time. For my lounge, I would write the following intentions:

Lounge Area

I call upon Gabriel and the element of water to cleanse this space of dense feelings and to maintain the flow of all energies introduced into this space by its occupants.

I call upon Michael and the element of fire to be a catalyst of change for all who seek help and healing in this space.

I call upon Raphael and the element of air to maintain balance and harmony in this space.

I call upon Uriel and the element of earth to bestow the energies of comfort, warmth, ease and contentment to all who seek relaxation in this space.

May the Archangels of earth, air, fire and water provide the perfect balance of energies in this space in accordance with Divine Will.

I say the above intention so that the archangels have been given permission to make their own changes to the energy environment of the room as they can often see the bigger picture. However, this never prevents me from trying to work out the energy mix for myself as, with all of us, we are trying to find our feet as co-creators with God and we must take responsibility for trying to manifest what we need. Don’t leave it all to the angels to work out for you!

Okay, we can now perform the ritual to energise your home.

Ritual

First of all, try to work out where the heart of your home might be. This used to be the hearth but modern kitchens, complex living spaces and central heating have made it obsolete. So, think of the place in your home that people naturally gravitate to or congregate by. The place people chat and laugh. Kitchen tables or by the fireplace in the lounge are often the heart of the home but go with your intuition on this.

Once you’ve decided where the heart of your home is, set up a small table there and arrange four candles as the imaginary points of a diamond – one pointing north, one east, one south and one west.  Place a fifth candle in the centre of the others. Now, we need to put a representation of each element by its corresponding candle. Place a small bowl filled with salt or earth from the garden by the northern candle, and a bowl filled with water by the western candle. Place an empty bowl or a feather to represent the element of air by the eastern candle. No representation is needed for the element of fire apart from the candle itself.

Draw up a chair and sit down by the table. Meditate for a while until you feel at peace. Now, try and visualise how you would like your house to feel. Visualise the quality of light you are looking for. Visualise the warmth. Visualise the space and atmosphere. Take your time. Visualise your family and friends in your home. See them interacting, chatting, laughing, working. See them looking well, healthy, happy, enjoying life. See your home as open and welcoming.

Now, just relax and breathe for a while with your eyes closed. Just as you did when you cleansed your home, connect with the Guardian of your home. Ask it to be present. Be patient until you feel its energy by you. Tell the Guardian that you wish to energise your home using the Archangels of the elements and ask for its help and advice in order to accomplish this. Wait a while and see if anything pops into your mind. Thank the Guardian of your home for being present.

Now, it’s time to invoke the Archangels. Light the northern candle saying, “I ask Archangel Uriel, angel of earth, to now be present in my home”. Just breathe with your eyes closed for a few minutes and allow this archangel’s energy to gather in your home. Then, move on to the eastern candle and repeat this procedure for Raphael, then the other two archangels in turn, moving clockwise around the diamond.

* (If you don’t intend to direct the angelic energies into each room and would prefer the Archangels to do their own balancing of your home, then go to the shortened ritual at the end of the article.)

When you feel all four angels are present, just mentally tell them that you’ve cleansed your home and now wish to energise it using their angelic powers. Ask for their help. Now light the fifth candle in the centre and make the following request out loud:

“ In the name of Uriel, Raphael, Michael and Gabriel, I ask that this house be filled with divine grace, light and love. May all who dwell here live in the divine energies of peace, harmony, contentment and happiness. So mote it be.”

When you feel the time is right, take the fifth candle with you as you begin your work in each individual room in turn. Decide whether you wish to start in the downstairs or upstairs rooms of your home and try to work in a systematic, clockwise direction through the rooms.

When you’ve decided which room you’d like to start from, walk to the centre of the room holding your candle and look at the intentions you wish to make on your piece of paper. As you’ve already invoked the angels within their cardinal points, it doesn’t matter which angel you start with now. Just read out your petitions in the format we used earlier:

“I call upon Raphael and the element of air to maintain balance and harmony in this space.” (Etc.)

Then, when you’ve read out all the petitions for that room say:

“May the Archangels of earth, air, fire and water provide the perfect balance of energies in this space in accordance with Divine Will.”

Once you feel you’ve completed your work in the first room, move on to the second. Be patient and take your time. Be aware of any thoughts or feelings that come to you in each room. It could be the Guardian of the home or one of the angels asking you to do something. Be open.

It will probably take you between 45 minutes and one hour to visit all the rooms of your home, make your requests and wait for the angelic energies to start coming through. During this time, try not to lose focus. With each room, try to visualise how you would like the energies to be and the positive effects it would have on you and your family. See the changes, manifest the changes.

When every room has been visited, return to the table and place the fifth candle back into its original position. Sit down and visualise your entire home filling with light. Then repeat the first petition once again:

“ In the name of Uriel, Raphael, Michael and Gabriel, I ask that this house be filled with divine grace, light and love. May all who dwell here live in the divine energies of peace, harmony, contentment and happiness. So mote it be.”

Thank each angel in turn for its help and presence. Thank also the Guardian of your home. Allow all the candles to burn out naturally, making sure there is no risk of fire if you leave them unattended.

The Archangels have now energised your home. I hope you enjoy the beautiful benefits of these angelic energies. Cleansing and Energising should be repeated at least three times a year. Eventually, you’ll become so in tune with the energies of your home, you’ll intuitively know when to do it.

Remember, your home is an extension and reflection of your own energy field. How you regard and nourish your home environment says much about how you regard and nourish yourself.

Enjoy working with the energies of your home.

* Shortened version of the energising ritual
Invoke the four archangels and light the four candles as described in the ritual (you don’t require the fifth candle in the centre of the diamond). When you feel all four angels are present, just mentally tell them that you’ve cleansed your home and now wish to energise it using their angelic powers. Ask for their help. Now request out loud:

“May the Archangels of earth, air, fire and water provide the perfect balance of energies in this home in accordance with Divine Will.”

Meditate quietly for a while allowing time for the angels to respond to your request. Now repeat the first petition again:

“ In the name of Uriel, Raphael, Michael and Gabriel, I ask that this house be filled with divine grace, light and love. May all who dwell here live in the divine energies of peace, harmony, contentment and happiness. So mote it be.”

Thank each angel in turn for its help and presence. Thank also the Guardian of your home. Allow all the candles to burn out naturally, making sure there is no risk of fire if you leave them unattended.
