Being a medium is the biggest privilege…ever. For whatever reason, I have been bequeathed this gift- maybe from my psychic mother or my grandparents – which enables me to link with those who have passed to the next world.

For several years now, I’ve been using my gift to communicate with the world we call spirit, and the joy of linking a grieving person, in times of need, to the essence or energy of a loved one whom they thought was gone forever, is indescribable.

People sometimes come for a reading with the weight of the world on their shoulders and, afterwards, I’ve seen them leave feeling lighter with the knowledge that nobody is ever ‘lost’. People ask me what happens at one of my readings – some have some really weird ideas from movies or TV. There’s absolutely nothing spooky or scary about it. For me, it is a case of “tuning in” and connecting with the energy of those friends in spirit.  

When I get a communicator from spirit, sometimes I am shown quite detailed pictorial images of what they looked like in life.  Also I can hear them, and very often they show me what they want said in the form of text. In other words, my communication with spirit is a bit like a mental computer screen. For the most part, I am actually shown pictures of what they want said, e.g. I would be shown scenes from a client’s life. If I’m not sure that what I’m seeing is past or present or future time, I ask, as the guides or spirits like communication.  And sometimes if there’s a lot of information to relay, I experience a sensation of energy controlling my tongue and I find that I can’t stop talking for a while!

I don’t know how it works in scientific terms, however I do know that sometimes even a small thing, a favourite name, a quote, a memory or a mannerism, which means nothing to me, can have deep meaning for the person seeking evidence or comfort from a deceased loved one. At other times, mind-blowingly vital messages can come through. For example, a young man came to me for a reading. During the reading, a communicator (a mechanic) came through with a message for the young man’s brother. He was told that there was something wrong with the chain on his brother’s motorcycle! A week later the gentleman phoned me to confirm the information I’d relayed to him. He told me that the chain had become stretched and a link was badly corroded! We thanked the spirit world for potentially saving his brother’s life. It’s interesting that spirit can get a message across, even through a third party.

When spirit want to get through…they get through! Sometimes when I’m doing Reiki or Shiatsu treatments, I get messages through for people even when it’s the furthest thing from my mind.  The messages I get are usually for the client I’m treating. These can take different forms, for example, once I was working on a lady who had lost a family dog and I was shown a very clear image of a Dalmatian. I sometimes also receive guidance from what I call “ascended medical masters”. While I am healing a client, I am shown images of body energy blocks or trouble spots and these usually take the form of red heat images. I’m also shown a grid representation of the clients body in an electric blue colour and get flashing red areas in the grid indicating where I’m meant to treat that person. And, depending on the client’s situation, I sometimes hear a name being relayed: this could take the form of “tell her Michelle is here with her “or something similar as this is usually for the client’s reassurance, especially in times of loneliness or grieving. At this point, I normally ask the communicator if they’d be prepared to work with me. If so, their higher knowledge is always used and any messages I get for the client I would give to them exactly as I hear it, a bit like a newsreader.

Being a medium is very rewarding for me and makes me feel good in my heart that the closeness is always there. 

When not doing my mediumship work, I’m just a normal everyday man. I work for the post office and I enjoy martial arts, which I have been teaching for several years now.

Reflecting on how it all began for me, I was wondering about where my life was going and what I should really be doing. I was interested in counselling. I have been told that from a very young age, I could see spirit people. From the moment that I started to develop this, the spirit helpers have always been there for me and have never let me down. Having realised a true sense of purpose I now know this to be my path in life, it feels like it’s really meant for me.

Sometimes, people come to me with quite complex issues that they need help or guidance with. As a medium, what I can do is pass on information from those who can see the “ bigger picture” or the situation in its entirety. In some cases, people don’t always understand their messages or sometimes they don’t agree, but, in my experience, spirit never lies, they have no need to! However, so often these people have contacted me at a later date to let me know that the messages received were correct for them. People have so much going on in their lives that the truth becomes obscure, and a little time is needed for the “dust to settle”.

My belief is that we are in this physical material existence to learn lessons, to experience various tests and emotional times in order for our souls to progress, deepen, and develop and above all to improve and learn.

To me, its like we are on a working, learning and loving holiday from another higher plain. However, every now and again we need to “touch base” and make contact with our true home and higher soul family members. Our lives on this earth are full of good times, as well as times of challenge and times of love and change. As humans we are born needing maternal love and guidance, as we grow to adults and hence become more developed and independent we still need that love, guidance and support at times. Because as we grow our challenges grow, so we sometimes need “ higher guidance or support”.

The higher source or Spirit can see the “bigger picture” and spirit guidance always loves and guides for our highest good, even if we can’t see it! 

As a medium, I have asked for guidance for others in times of need and desperation, and I can honestly say that I have never been let down or misinformed. It is all about trust, not only in the power of our spirit helpers or guides, but also in ourselves, as we too are spirit. We too should have faith and trust in ourselves to make suitable choices, or to listen and act on any advice given lovingly by our higher helpers.

Through my work as a medium, I have truly realised that we are all on a great path, even if we cannot see it at times. My motivation for doing this work for spirit is that helping others along their path is really in my heart and soul. I offer my service as a medium, to anyone who seeks guidance or just simply wants to make contact with someone in spirit. Indeed, sometimes all that is needed is evidence of their continued existence. However, there have been numerous occasions where specific and useful messages have come through.

I understand and accept that all who live on this earth have tests and challenges; however we should not suffer endlessly. Help is always at hand. Through higher guidance and the universal source, we just need to ask and listen!
