Welcome We are now into our 5th issue and are half-way through the year as the summer solstice approaches this weekend. The solstice, or mid-summer, is the longest day of the year and the time when the sun is at its highest point in the sky. This is a time to focus on the sun and celebrate its energy and life-giving properties with the Goddess at the height of her power and fertility.
On the flipside, the solstice also reminds us that the sun will now begin its decline, as the days begin to shorten from here – so this is also a time to think about preserving and storing the nourishing light as we tip towards darkness again. This is a time to absorb the energy and the light of the sun so that you can take it forward within you like an inner fire. If you practice Yoga this is a time to focus on your in-breath, and postures to balance the Solar Plexus Chakra (the inner fire energy centre). But if your inner fire is raging a little too high, then we have an Ayurveda article in this issue with hints for cooling down! If you haven’t visited the site before, we rotate the magazine with the wheel of the year and our aim is to provide an up-to-date local information service aimed at a New Age user base, incorporating features and local information for those interested in Eastern spiritual disciplines, metaphysics, paganism, environmental issues and the field of complementary health. We cover topics such as psychic development, meditation, mediumship, angels, earth energies, sacred sites and the 2012 debate and we welcome any input in the form of articles, news items and musings. In this particular issue, we have lots to report in the complementary health area so please take a look at the News section where we have information on a new therapy centre, the Red Heart Fund, just opened in Boscombe. In Therapy News we take alook at Oriental Body Balance and No HANDS Massage. In addition to our Ayurveda article, we take look at Buddhism and Yoga, and we have our regular Diary of a Psychic which this month focusses on the evolution of humankind as a vehicle for the soul. We are also very excited that our Eco section is now ready to go and we are featuring the growing network of Transition Towns (keeping it local). When navigating the site, it may be helpful to know that you can sort the articles list to appear as you wish to see them using the ‘order’ box. The ‘Filter’ box allows you to type in a search word to find articles on whatever subject you are interested in. And finally, don't forget about the Orbs Conference taking place in Glastonbury July 11-13. You can find out more from The Prophets Conference website at the link below. Enjoy your summer! Peace and Solstice Blessings.
